Private Experience and Hospitality Advisory
Dominic Armstrong
Founder & Principal Advisor, Hudson Events
A philosophy shaped over three decades
For more than thirty years, I have had the privilege of working in some of the world's most private and demanding environments, supporting royalty, family offices, private clients and internationally recognised organisations.
Looking back, I have come to realise that my career has never really been about events.
It has always been about people.
About understanding what matters to a principal before they need to explain it. About creating confidence in situations where expectations are high and details matter. About bringing together exceptional people, listening carefully, making considered decisions and quietly ensuring that everything works as it should.
Early in my career, I had the privilege of working alongside Lady Elizabeth Anson, whose understanding of hospitality extended far beyond entertaining. She believed that every gathering should feel deeply personal and entirely effortless for those experiencing it. That philosophy has remained with me throughout my career and continues to shape how I work today.
Since then, I have advised on and supported experiences across Europe, the United States, the Middle East and Japan - from international cultural collaborations and private residences to family celebrations, corporate retreats and royal hospitality. Every engagement has been different, but the principles have remained remarkably consistent: trust, discretion, preparation and calm judgement.
Over time, my role has naturally evolved.
Today, I spend less time on operational delivery and more time helping clients think clearly about what they are trying to achieve, assembling trusted people around them and providing the reassurance that comes from knowing every detail has been thoughtfully considered.
Over the years, I have come to believe that the most meaningful work is often invisible. My greatest satisfaction comes not from being noticed, but from seeing a client walk into a room, pause for a moment, and quietly say, "This is exactly how I imagined it." In that moment, my work is done. From there, I simply step back, allowing the experience - and the relationships within it - to take centre stage.
When an experience unfolds naturally, when guests feel genuinely welcomed and when a client is able to be fully present rather than distracted by responsibility, then I know I have succeeded.
That is the role Hudson Events exists to fulfil.
We work quietly, thoughtfully and with absolute discretion, helping clients create environments where relationships flourish, reputations are protected and people feel genuinely cared for.
Because in the end, hospitality is not about impressing people.
It is about making them feel that they belong.
